William Rousseau
William is a composer, director, author and performer. His first album, Ton homme en passant, was released in 2009. His career began as a guitarist and singer with numerous groups across his native Normandy. In early 2000, he signed his first contract as author-composer with Warner/Chappell, quickly drawing attention for his talents as composer and arranger. Since then, he has written or composed songs for Nolwenn Leroy, Florent Pagny, Roch Voisine, Chimène Badi, Faudel, Christophe Willem, Marie-Amélie Seigner, Anggun… He has directed or co-directed for Christophe Willem, Anggun, Saya, Marie-Amélie Seigner and, more recently, Alain Chamfort’s Elle et Lui. Following a decisive encounter with his acolyte Rod Janois, he proposed the music for what would become the finale of the musical comedy Le Roi Soleil: ‘Tant qu’on rêve encore’, the beginning of a great story that would continue with the composition, with Rod Janois, Jean–Pierre Pilot, Olivier Schultheis and Dove Attia, of a large part of the songs for Mozart, l’Opéra Rock. Thus, ‘Tatoue-moi’, ‘L’Assassymphonie’, ‘C’est bientôt la fin’ and a few others would come out of this collaboration. With Jean-Pierre Pilot and Olivier Schultheis, he directed the second part of the album Mozart, l’Opéra Rock then co-composed and co-directed all the songs for the show 1789, les Amants de la Bastille. With Jean-Pierre Pilot, he is in charge of the musical direction of Mistinguett, Reine des Années Folles and co-composed all the songs.
